Ah, the British summer holidays – six weeks of sunshine (well, hopefully), ice creams, family days out, and for many… a complete break from routines.

But at Fight Station Kickboxing, there’s one thing you won’t find on our schedule: a six-week shutdown.

Here’s why we keep our doors open, the music loud, and the energy high all summer long – and why that decision benefits you, your children, and your progress more than you might think.

 

1. Progress Doesn’t Take a Holiday – So Neither Do We

In martial arts, consistency is king. It’s not the one-off class or flash of motivation that creates champions – it’s the steady, regular training that builds confidence, fitness, and resilience.

Taking six weeks off is like pressing pause on your progress. Whether you're working towards your next grade, building discipline, or just starting to feel fitter and stronger – a break that long can set you back months, not just weeks.

That’s why we stay open – so your momentum doesn’t stall, and your goals stay on track.

 

2. Kids Thrive on Routine – Especially During the Holidays

Let’s be honest: as much as the summer break is exciting, it can also lead to boredom, endless screen time, and kids bouncing off the walls by week two.

Keeping them in their regular Kickboxing classes:

Maintains a positive routine

Channels their energy into discipline and focus

Gives them a sense of achievement while school’s out

It’s also a massive help for parents juggling work, childcare, and keeping kids active and happy. Our sessions are a healthy constant in a time when everything else changes.

We don’t just teach punches and kicks. Our classes instil confidence, respect, anti-bullying strategies, and self-defence skills – the kind of character-building lessons that children need all year round.

Summer is often when kids face new situations – holidays, clubs, or time with older peers. Having a strong mindset and physical confidence helps them handle those situations with ease.

We don’t close our doors because you rely on us. And honestly? We love what we do too much to stop.

If you’re travelling for a week or two – great, we’ll be here when you get back. But if you’re home, there’s zero reason to stop showing up. In fact, summer is often when our members grow the most – physically, mentally, and socially.
